Rose is competing in a live competition and as part of the brief has been asked to provide swing tags to accompany her entry (outfit). The 2 two piece garment is called 'Miso - Tribal Artisan' (in a mistake I put apparel in my initial design development) As part of the development stage I took the typeface 'Hill House' and began to customise some of the lettering, especially the 'M'. Originally the typeface connoted and Art Deco aesthetic but when the 'M' is changed to Futura and the strokes have been extended to make it taller is partners with the zig zag line to appear more 'tribal'. Along with this proposal I also developed a bespoke typeface that experimented with tribal strokes and symbols inspired by images of mayan art as seen in the post below.
